“When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust Him fully and let go. Only one of two things will happen: either He’ll catch you when you fall, or He’ll teach you how to fly!” Author Unknown
The other day, I was doing my normal routine of wake up, drink coffee, exercise, get the kids breakfast, get them dressed, get myself dressed, grab my things, get out the house, run the kids to my in-laws, run my errands before work, get to work, then get off of work, run and pick up the kids, get home and start dinner, clean up after dinner, eat dinner, and get the kids ready for bed, and then finally have a moment of quiet to actually breathe a little before heading to bed myself! Now, it sounds like a long day, but then I realized something… I had not prayed or spoken to God not one time that day. Ok, I know what most are saying, that it is okay to miss a day every so often, since some days are hectic. But, honestly, I do realize that if I go one day without spending time talking with Christ, I tend to go another day and another without spending time with Him. And this my friends, is how we get into DANGER. Not convinced? Well, allow me to explain.
“Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!” Psalm 105:4
Now have you ever had a day that seemingly starts out terrific? I mean you wake up refreshed, you feel good, everyone is smiling and saying, “Good Morning. ” You have a genuine excitement about facing the day. So, in your own excitement, you forget to pray. And you then go through your day, and its uneventful, so what do you the next day? The same exact thing and because you are now assuming that you have it all under control you also in your own arrogance (I am so guilty of this), say to yourself, “God knows I love Him, so that is all that needs to be said.” Then another uneventful day comes and goes. And before you know it, it has been a week since you have spent time with God. Unfortunately, you have started to form a habit. DANGER, DANGER!
“In the pride of his face the wicked does not seek him; all his thoughts are, “There is no God.” Psalm 10:4
How many people have you seen or spoken to who seemingly have it all together, but when you get to know them a little more, you find out that their lives are falling apart? And you say to them, “Have you prayed about this or that?” and they say to you that they have not, or they give you that glassy eyed look that says they would like you to stop talking about Jesus to them. We all will have days that are great and we all will have days that stink, but the common denominator is how we spend our 86,400 seconds in that day either thinking about ourselves or thinking about our God. Are you in danger…of being in Danger?
Lastly, in walking this faith walk, you must know that you must seek God first in ALL our decisions and plans. If we even go one day without spending a few quite moments with Him, we are in danger of giving our heart over to the enemy, the flesh! And then Satan easily takes a strong hold over your thoughts, your words, and your actions. It happens again and again folks… very easily. I challenge you to start or to renew your companionship with Christ today. Just think about it, a habit of seeking wise council, will form a habit of making wise choices. What do you have to lose? You got this!
Sincerely,
Terryn
