Have you been feeling like you have had more days this year where it seems like everything is against you?
You know when you have finally gotten one thing done, but then a million things fall in place behind it.
And those things do not just fall, they literally shake the earth with the weight of responsibility that they all entail.
I can even remember finding myself on the brink of throwing a serious toddler- like tantrum because I was so fed up with certain situations.
Those days where your stress level is so high, you find yourself envisioning packing your bags and hopping in your car, then disappearing are often not that few and far in between.
If you have not had one of those days yet, then be patient, they are coming. But, if you are like me and have seen those days a time or two, then just hold on, I promise it will not last forever.
“For our light and temporary affliction is producing for us an eternal glory that far outweighs our troubles.” 2 Corinthians 4:17
You heard that old saying, “Trouble doesn’t last always”?
It is very true, but when you are in the middle of trouble, it is very hard to see the light at the end.
Most of us on a normal day would not run into a burning building. But if your child was in that building, then those normal circumstances no longer exist.
You would embrace the heat, to save the child; Not caring how hurt you could get.
Just like running into a burning building under extreme circumstances, we must embrace the craziness that this life on earth will bring.
Every day this year has been like facing a burning building aka car troubles, work troubles, home troubles, health struggles, Corona Virus etc. troubles. But that building is holding what we need to get to the next phase of our lives.
It holds that child which, in essence, is our faith in the things we cannot see. And most times we cannot see our way out of the very stressful, heated situations we are in.
During these times, we must know that we can summon that courage under fire. Our faith must be bigger than the circumstance.
“Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.” Psalms 126:5
Since we are all facing a daily battle of rising above or falling apart, we all have to know God’s word for ourselves.
God never promised us smooth, clear days, but He did promise to never leave us nor forsake us. And honestly, as I continue to face many more burning buildings, I have had to realize the provision that God has already provided for me to fight the fire.
Yes, we WILL receive and have received bad news, but we trust Him to carry us through it.
Yes, we were not treated the way we DESERVED to be treated, but He always treats us lovingly.
Yes, our FINANCES are jacked up, but He always provides exactly what we need because He is our source.
Yes, some of our FAMILY is not all on the right path, but we trust Him to change their HEARTS just as He has done for us.
Yes, our jobs or joblessness are not always the most rewarding, but we do not seek the rewards of man, we seek the eternal rewards for our jobs well done for God’s kingdom.
GOD is our courage under Fire!
He allows for the temporary setbacks so we can rejoice in our great comebacks.
“No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” Romans 8:37
Finally, in tottering daily on this precarious walk of Christianity, just know it is not meant to be easy. If our lives were really easy, we would find ourselves depending on God less.
We would not seek Him as our source because we would forget we had a source.
Great faith only comes from great strain.
And just like not knowing how we would survive an actual burning building, we do not know how we will survive the daily burning of life’s stresses.
It takes COURAGE to face tomorrow’s fire when we do not know what tomorrow will bring.
I know you all have what it takes because God has already promised us the water supply to survive it all. We must limit the intake of the bad so that we can have more room for the good.
2020 has allowed for all of us to find our true courage under fire, and with God the flames will never do anything more than just heat us up.
Remember you got this!
Sincerely,
Terryn
