We have stood on shaky ground for so long,
The sorrow and pain our mindset does not belong,
The promise of God is what has kept us going,
So that our joy this time of year can still be overflowing,
God’s word rings true to stay rooted in Him,
The peace is in the promises given to those who commit,
Their hearts and minds to do the hard tasks,
To see beyond what is in front of us to focus on the things that last,
Our roots are deep and faith in strong,
We all know the true reason for the season,
and in God we all truly belong!
