Destination Beyond Our Location/My Modern Day Journey in Faith/ “Enlightenment Series”

I had just completed the finishing touches to the last chapter of my book, when suddenly I was hit with the most peculiar question.

Do you look like your destination or your current location?

That question was peculiar because I was in the midst of finally pursuing my own dreams and I had not thought about what that would mean.

Most of us have a dream and goals we want to achieve, but let’s face it..most of us do not.

There are many reasons that dreams do not happen but for the most part we fail to ask ourselves the question, “Do you look like your destination or your current location?”

What does that question mean to you?

“And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.” Isaiah 11:2

We all have read in our bibles, this earth is not our home. It’s a strange place to be in when you do not recognize your surroundings.

COVID has made us realize how fragile and finite our lives really are.

This time in our lives have made us all have to dig deeper than ever before, and ponder what we truly want out of this life we have been given.

I have seen so many of us rise to the occasion to allow God to do some extraordinary things in their lives in these very uncertain times. 

I for one, was moved by the Holy Spirit to finally complete and publish my first book. YAY! But in doing this I realize I have a responsibility to help someone else.

I would have never imagined taking the leap, yet here I am, in a space I never dreamed of before.

“For God speaks in one way, and in two, though man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, while they slumber on their beds,” Job 33:14-15

Before COVID too many of us were so wrapped up in our “everyday” that we had failed to prepare ourselves for what we were meant for. 

We had no idea of all we had inside of us amidst all the running around we were doing.

My book came from a dream that would not have become reality had I not been in a place of silence and reflection (quarantine will do that to you). 

Now it’s December and God is manifesting in ways, I could not have imagined for myself.

So tell me, what are you waiting for? Are you preparing for your destination or are you too comfortable with your location?

I challenge you this month, the last month of a very hard year..to finally sit down with that dream you have set aside for far too long. 

I challenge you to open your heart to the possibility that God will supply all your needs in taking that leap of Faith.

I challenge you to do as Esther did and…”For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14

Will you take the leap to your destination now that you have outgrown your current location?
