“Next Chapter”/My Modern Day Journey in Faith/Birthday Edition

Where Faith & Fairy tales met….

What a difference a year makes. I am about to embark on another birthday and I had to take the time to think about how far I have come…in one year.

525,600 minutes to fulfill dreams, accomplish goals, become better, and to grow into who God created me to be.

I could go on and on about His loving kindness, His grace and His mercy but I must say how blessed I am to have such a great support system in my life.

I often thought as a kid, I was alone and no one truly saw me. I would act out to get attention not knowing that everyone around me was struggling with their own growing pains.

I have become more aware as I have gotten older that my family members and friends are human beings too. They have their quirks that may or may not go well with my sparkly spirit. (I say this with a smirk because most of my family are rolling their eyes right now..Lol)

Each family member and friend are also are incredible in their own different ways.

Now I will tell you that Chapter 40 brought things out of me that I did not know I had. God tends to push us to do many extraordinary things when we finally truly connect with Him.

I thought I was too old to live out my dreams…but I am here to tell you that God’s timetable does not coincide with the world.

To the world once you hit a certain age, you can no longer do what you had the “energy” to do in your teens or in your twenties. And I often fell into the trap of going along with what I was told most of my life…I was not a good fit for the norm.

Now, I am writing this just to let someone know, who has been struggling with movement toward dreams that no matter what you think is your obstacle, you can surpass it..

And you may have heard that because you are not young enough, fit enough, pretty enough, smart enough, rich enough, or even popular enough to do things that you have yearned to do. I am here to tell you to keep pressing toward those goals. God still supplies all of our needs and He is our source.

Dreams can only be fulfilled once we release the expectation of our own will.

Let me say that again for the people in the back….

DREAMS CAN ONLY BE FULFILLED ONCE WE RELEASE THE EXPECTATION OF OUR OWN WILL!

Chapter 40 came with miraculous highs and some terrible lows, yet God has been faithful. The blessings in my life overflow and remind me that I am alive. So while I am here, I will ensure that God gets all the glory and the praise for changing my life and allowing me to have a supportive tribe of people to help propel me forward.

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14

I know it’s been phenomenally hard this last year for all of us, but we are assigned by God to learn the lessons to ensure generational blessings.

“A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down” is a line from my favorite movie Mary Poppins and it applies to our lives. God gives us the sweet so we can digest the sour. But it’s always good medicine for our souls.

So with this I will say so long to Chapter 40 and Hello to Chapter 41……..stay tuned for more!

Sincerely,

Terryn Horton-Morton
