“It Was All A Dream!” ~Poem by T.H.M~Weekly Sunday Inspiration

The time we spend in trying to live for others expectations,
Will make the most easy going person lose their patience,
During this season which should have us focus on a love that never fails to ring true,
We find ourselves hustling to become more like the caricatures of me and you,
I have had conversations with different people recently,
So many people strive to live for the most part, decently,
But one thing that seems to be the most common thread,
Is what happens to the God given dreams that are never fed,
What happens when we become bonded to the world’s death race,
And we forget often to seek our own Father’s face,
“Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven,”(Matthew 6:9-10)
And many of us use our pain and our confusion as a weapon,
Of mass destruction to dim the light of others,
Because we can’t afford to have the truth about ourselves be uncovered,
The dreams we were given as children are from the most holy of places,
We used to be encouraged by seeing smiling faces,
The season used to be filled with wonder of the most High,
We often were excited to see if the angels would come from behind their disguise,
The wonder of who we were created to be used to come with endless possibilities,
Now I find it’s tough to get folks on the same positive wavelength as me,
I know there is more for God’s children who truly believe,
“Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.” Matthew 2:13
Because it was a dream that ultimately saved our King of Kings.

Remember that God loves you always. You got this because God got us.

Sincerely,
Terryn Horton-Morton
