The beauty of a heritage of people who resisted death,
Where family and faith mean the ultimate wealth,
That is why we can’t afford to think just about ourselves,
Because we are the legacy of what’s left,
We must be the torch that is carried toward the future of light,
God gave us the provision to survive the long winter night,
Our history, which is the story of a people, is held on to hope with all their might,
Our children will be resilient but be able to attest to who they are no matter the strife,
This month, we focus more on the pioneers who defeated the odds,
Their gifts to this world will outlast us and beyond,
Being the first to do something is not an easy task,
We sit on the shoulders of the ones who faced numerous attacks,
To represent something greater than could be imagined,
Is what makes ordinary people become legend,
God has and continues to be there for His children every step of the way,
This is why we continue to press toward a brighter day,
It takes endurance and energy to keep the enemy at bay,
We are a people that will continue to change the trajectory of what was before,
We know we must keep in mind what we are fighting for,
The soul of us can’t afford to fall prey to the trap laid out before us,
In Ephesians 6:10-20, says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, …”
Remember God loves you always. You got this because God got us.
Sincerely,
Terryn Horton-Morton
Thank you for continuing to pour into us. I love it.
